Casino, is a casino and entertainment center located in the Arundel Mills commercial district of Hanover, Maryland.It was the third full-scale casino to open in Maryland when the first phase debuted on June 6, 2012.

Maryland Live Casino & Hotel will reopen at 6 a.m. June 29 for the public, the company announced Monday.

The state's six casinos have been closed since mid-March to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The casino will allow patrons to enter only by advanced online reservation due to limited capacity.

The casino will implement a phased approach to reopening, beginning with a series of 'Members Days' for its Live! Rewards Cardholders, from 5 p.m. Friday to June 28. Rewards Cardholders will also be required to make an advanced online reservation before admission.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan last week announced that he was easing more restrictions, allowing for the reopening of casinos, as well as indoor dining, outdoor amusements and malls. Casinos, with local approval, will be allowed to reopen beginning 5 p.m. Friday.

Anne Arundel County, where Maryland Live Casino & Hotel is located, will allow casinos to reopen Friday, Executive Steuart Pittman announced last week.

All of the casino's amenities, including slots and tables games, will reopen, while the spa and many bars and restaurants will remain closed. Patrons will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing, and they will have their temperature checked before admission.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort, in Allegany County, announced that it would reopen its casino, hotel, restaurants and golf course beginning 5 p.m. Friday.

Live! casino and hotel reopened to the public Monday morning. It's the same, yet different, inside the Hanover casino and hotel, which is operating at limited capacity and with new sanitization and safety measures in place.

'Our first priority has always been safety of our team members and our guests. We've spent the last several months putting tremendous resources behind our plan called 'Play it safe Live!' which is based on guidance from local and state health officials as well as the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention),' General Manager Anthony Faranca said.

Upon entering the casino, all guests get a temperature check and get scanned on an infrared camera. Hand sanitizer and wipes are readily available and social distancing measures are in place. Slot machines are strategically closed to allow for distancing, and plexiglass partitions separate customers from each other and staff, and everyone has to wear masks.

'We know at Maryland Live! that the great experience starts with piece of mind, and I think that's what our guests are going to find when they come visit us,' Faranca said.

The casino has implemented a phased reopening. They opened for card members only 10 days ago, and just a few hours into the public reopening, people said they welcomed the safety changes.

'It doesn't really make it worse. Its OK. It actually makes it look different, and I like it. It's still hard to win, but that's OK. It's just for fun,' patron John Lee said.

'It's good that they separated the machines the way they did because the spacing is very important,' patron Bob Alexander said.
